ACSS/TW

Pooya Gharb Trapezoidal Aluminum Conductor Steel Supported, ACSS/TW is composed of wedge-shaped fully annealed or soft temper aluminum 1350-0 wires, concentrically lay-stranded around a stranded central steel core. Result is multi-layer wedge-shaped conductor with more compact alignment of the aluminum wires than round ACSS conductors.  

Features

Pooya Gharb ACSS/TW has all the advantages and capabilities provided by ACSS cable, namely:

§  Capability to operate continuously at very high temperature up to 250 C, depending on the protective coatings of the steel core.

§  Very high current carrying capacity  due to its higher temperature rating and 63 percent conductivity of soft aluminum compared to 61.2 percent of hard drawn aluminum

§  Significantly less sag at high temperatures, allowing for lower tower height

§  Long time creep of aluminum is not a factor in final sag-tension performance

§  High self-damping capability compared to conventional conductors of comparable sizes

§  Has high degree of immunity  to vibration fatigue and unique capability for damping mechanical oscillations, such as those associated with aeolian vibration
